PASTOR MICHAEL KYAZZE’S STATEMENT ON RECENT MEDIA REPORTS

It is with profound shock and sadness that I read recent media reports in The New Vision and The Monitor of Monday 27th April 2009 in which a number of damaging and false accusations were made about me and members of my church.  Whilst it is not our church policy to respond to media articles, I felt that the baseless nature of the allegations made require a response.
Firstly, I have never been involved in any efforts to undermine or discredit any pastors or individuals at Rubaga Miracle Centre. I have no quarrel or anything personal against Pastor Robert Kayanja or my Christian brothers and sisters at Rubaga Miracle Centre.
My struggle has been and will continue to be the fight for the increasing number of victims of sodomy in our society who present themselves to me.  If this has been misinterpreted as being an effort to discredit Pastor Kayanja then it is both unfortunate but also a dangerous and unfounded insinuation.
Secondly, media reports made another allegation linking the alleged kidnapping of Pastor Kayanja’s aide Chris Muwonge to me and the kidnap emanating from our supposed personal rivalry. Media reports located this supposed rivalry as having originated from my “split away” from Miracle Centre.
For the record, I have never been a pastor of Rubaga Miracle Centre and I never been engaged in a nefarious and criminal act as kidnapping. That such a baseless insinuation could be made without establishment of the facts is both unfortunate and undermines the credibility of some of our media.
I believe that the recent reports have fallen victim to a fake controversy manufactured to divert attention to what has increasingly become an unacceptably fast growing evil of sodomy in our society.
I will continue to stand up for the voiceless victims of sodomy and to advocate for the urgent redress of their desperate plight.
Nevertheless, given the damaging nature of some of reports, we will reserve our rights to seek appropriate legal counsel on the matter.
Yours in Christ Service,

Michael D. Kyazze
